Welcome to the inaugural Frozen Cage Classic hosted by Big Walnut Lacrosse.
This tournament provides Central Ohio high school lacrosse teams with an alternative winter option for development that is both cost-effective and aligned with field lacrosse development. The schedule will be set to avoid conflict with Resolute's winter box program to allow teams and/or players to participate in both if they choose.
Divisions
Each of the four divisions – Boys Varsity, Boys Junior Varsity, Girls Varsity, Girls Junior Varsity – will consist of six teams.
Teams should ideally consist of 12-15 players, but can have additional players, as schedules may create conflict. All players must be rostered and have a unique season-long jersey number.
Costs
Team registration costs are $3,000 (budgeted at $200/player for a 15-player team). Coaches will register first to create their team and will receive a unique team code to share with players. Every player will need to individually register via the Frozen Cage Classic 2025 Player Registration.
Teams with greater than 15 players will not pay more than the team registration cost of $3,000.
Player Registration
Players will be required to register and sign waivers independently via the Frozen Cage Classic 2025 Player Registration to ensure they have access to the schedule and communication capabilities.
Season Schedule
The six-week season will begin November 3rd and end December 20th. No games will be scheduled during the week of Thanksgiving to provide a midseason break. Divisions will play on the same night each week between the hours of 6:00 to 9:00PM. Saturday afternoons will be reserved for weather-related makeup games as needed each week.
Weeks 1-5 will be pool play. Week 6 will be set by record – W/L and then GD for ties.
Each night we will run three games – 6PM, 7PM, and 8PM. Games will consist of 32 minutes of running clock with a 15-minute warm-up, 4-minute halftime, and 2 minutes between quarters.
Our PA will announce starting lineups, and team rosters will be displayed on the Jumbotron. Announcements will be impartial. Both competing teams' goals, face-offs, saves, etc, will be announced. Teams will be asked to provide a season-long goal horn of choice to be played after each score.
The Fan Experience
We encourage players and fans to attend each game. Our concession stands will be open for all games, and music will be played during stoppages.
HUDL
All games will be recorded and provide vis exchange to the home high school's Hudl account.
